The SLIIT Sports Council and the Physical Education and Sports Unit are delighted to extend an official invitation to your Campus/ Center students to participate in the inaugural SLIIT Inter-Faculty Sports Meet 2023 as an invited entity. This event marks a significant milestone in the history of SLIIT, as we bring together students from various faculties, SLIIT Campuses and Centers in the island to showcase their sporting talents and compete in a friendly and a spirited environment.
Event Details:
- Event Name: SLIIT Inter-Faculty Sports Meet 2023
- Date: August 2023 onwards (schedule will be notified later)
- Venue: SLIIT Uni Malabe
We have planned an exciting array of thirteen sport events for this meet. It will also be a great opportunity for students of your Campus/ Center to be selected for the SLIIT sports teams. The following is the list of events in which you are invited to participate:
- Badminton (Men and Women)
- Basketball (Men and Women)
- Carrom (Men and Women)
- Chess (organized as an individual rapid event for men and women separately. Any number of students can participate the event however they require prior registration with a registration fee of 500.00 rupees per student)
- Cricket (Men)
- Football (Men)
- Netball (Women)
- Swimming (Men and Women – 25m and 50m free, 25m and 50m breast, 25m and 50m fly, 25m and 50m back, 100m IM, 200m IM, 50x4 Free, 50x4 Medley, 50x4 Mix Free)
- Table Tennis (Men and Women)
- Tag Rugby (Men)
- Tennis (Men and Women)
- Track and Field (Men and Women – 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Shotput, Discuss Throw, Javelin Throw, 100x4, 400x4, Mix medley relay)
- Volleyball (Men and Women)
- Other
To ensure a fair and balanced competition, we request that your Campus/ Center team adheres to the following guidelines:
- For team events (e.g., Basketball), please nominate one men's team and one women's team from your Campus/ Center.
- For individual events (e.g., 100m), please nominate maximum of three players (both men and women) from your Campus/ Center. Please nominate one men’s and women’s team for relay events.
The winning teams and individuals in each event will be awarded medals, certificates, and trophies.
Please confirm your Campus/ Center team's participation in this event by 31st July 2023. Your early confirmation will help us make the necessary arrangements for a successful event.
