Dear Students,
This is to inform you that the lab computers on BOC Merchant Tower 13th Floor Lab1 and Lab2 are scheduled to be replaced as part of a planned upgrade to improve performance and reliability.
As a result, all data stored on the existing machines will be wiped on both Windows and Ubuntu, except for data located on the Student Drive on Windows, which will be preserved. Any files saved on other partitions (such as Desktop, Downloads, Documents, or other custom drives) will not be retained after the replacement.
To prevent any data loss, we strongly advise you to:
- Review your files and folders stored outside the Student Drive.
- Backup or transfer any important data to an external storage device.
- Complete this process on or before 7th July 2025.
- Avoid saving files to the Desktop or any location outside the Student Drive going forward
Please treat this as a priority, as data recovery after the replacement will not be possible.
